I’ll be playing in an amazing medieval church in Withersfield as part of a quiet , contemplative day (my favourite kind!) Withersfield is now on a newly marked up pilgrimage route from London to Walsingham, so the theme of the day will of course be pilgrimage. You can read about that route which has been revived, written up into a book and published by Andy Bull here. He mentions his stop in Withersfield and Rev Max Drinkwater who is hosting me there!
Lots of beautiful music from the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries from places Margery visited will be on offer, as well as readings from her book.
